Mayer (n.d.) defines multimedia learning as learning from words and pictures. From this class, I hope to enhance my learning attention and participation abilities even in the absence of multimedia or interactive techniques. I am unsure that the class will equip me with learning from single-medium approaches.

Resilient Educator (2018) gives brainstorming and think, pair, and share as examples of how teachers can use interactive techniques to teach their students. Brainstorming is important in generating creative ideas from students. With think, pair, and share, a problem is identified, students are paired and given sufficient time to generate conclusions and each participant shares his conclusion.

Multimedia learning enables people to learn more deeply from words and pictures than from words alone (Mayer, p. 1). Students can fail to grasp the depths of study material without practical application. In Juliani (n.d.), the instructor uses storytelling to make his tenth grade English class on “Things Fall Apart” more interactive.

In McCue (2021), Rich’s son plays the pandemic game, an online game, and in the process learns about viruses, diseases, and how vaccination can help to prevent the spread of the diseases. He is a multimedia learning as he uses a digital device to access the online visual program.

An example of an interactive session I experienced was filling a word puzzle on an Android phone. It involved finding the right words for given descriptions. The game offered me knowledge of new terms that I had not known. It also jogged my critical thinking abilities.
